Click Media Logo Animation

From 2-D to 3-D

An example of a simple, easy logo animation. The client presented me with a 2D image of their logo and I converted it to 3D geometry. After a brief verbal story board, I animated the simple movement. The mosaic flying in from the upper left was actually not hand animated. I used some procedural animation for that component. The mosaic was created and then I used a procedural noise shader along with a 'transform modifier' of sorts.

Based on the luminosity of the underlying noise, the modifier changed the position, scale and rotation of the mosaic blocks. I defined brackets; minimum and maximum values for the modified parameters to occur within. Once some randomization was added, it all fell together. (No pun intended.)

I have always loved procedural animation, simply for the fact that it can be multiplied and randomized, making the viewer give the predictable response of, "wow!" or "cool!" If there is any room in a project I am totally guilty of attempting to 'jazz up' the animation by adding some procedural animation. Click the link below to see the final animation.
